common sense change

ptsd is an invisible disability. it includes physically and mentally debilitating components.
watered down from wide overuse of the word, a ptsd trigger causes instinctive and measurable changes to my physical state (survival response/nervous system activation). it’s like an extreme version of seeing blue lights and getting pulled over. it takes time and a focused mental state to manage and endure triggers.
suicide is failure to endure a trigger.
legislation protecting individuals with medically diagnosed disabilities (including ptsd) can significantly reduce triggers. examples are mandatory reporting of abuse and protection from litigation for individuals with an ada disability age 18-59. currently, those laws do not exist (only for minors and elders).
talking alone is not enough.
we impact suicide with common sense change.
